Bearwood Butty Van (BV2), which serves the area around Leominster and Weobley, met at Oldcastle Farm, Kinnersley this week at the kind invitation of Alan and Dawn Probert. Amid the several new visitors the chaplains and volunteers were pleased to welcome was the Rt Revd. Richard Jackson, Bishop of Hereford Diocese, who arrived on his Harley Davidson somewhat later than expected, apologetic that his sat-nav had taken him to another Oldcastle Farm, some ten miles away.
Bishop Richard who studied Agriculture and Forest Science at university and later conducted research in soil and water engineering, expressed a keen interest in the practical issues facing those in the agricultural industry. He eagerly struck up conversations with farmers as he enjoyed a butty and a brew.
