The first Marches Real Food & Farming Conference takes place on the 15th and 16th September in South Shropshire. The conference brings together people engaged across the food system to explore 'Our Local Food Future'.
Hear from over 40 speakers
Take part in practical sessions
Share ideas and experiences
Connect with peers and be part of a growing network
Come and hear from thought leaders and find out what is happening locally. We will be discussing opportunities and challenges with food producers, farmers, researchers, policy makers and citizens, sharing ideas and experiences, and together creating a vision for the future of food and farming here in the Marches, and how we can work together to achieve it.
There are panel discussions, workshops, 'In conversation' sessions and practical activities. We will look at the economics, from making regenerative agriculture pay, to understanding new opportunities with blended finance and through a more localised food economy. We will explore environmental issues, how we can farm with nature, build soil fertility and manage nutrients, water and livestock sustainably, adapt to climate change and reduce inputs and emissions. We will consider how a resilient food system can support health and wellbeing, see if we can taste food quality and look at different ways to collaborate effectively.
